(New York, NY – January 19, 2015) – THE PORN PHENOMENON: A COMPREHENSIVE, GROUNDBREAKING NEW SURVEY ON AMERICANS, THE CHURCH, AND PORNOGRAPHY: Impact of Internet Pornography on American Population and the Church

From The Study: “Pornography has gone almost completely digital”
Use Is Particularly Evident Among Teens And Young Adults

In the most comprehensive, ground-breaking, in-depth and wide-ranging study to date on pornography among the American population and the Church — research reveals a younger exposure to pornography, increased desensitization and an escalating usage of pornography. These results are particularly evident among teens and young adults, who are watching porn and seeking it out more than any other generation.

“Pornography violates all relational values between the individual and self, the individual and society, the unity of our families and our moral fabric and fiber as a nation,” said Josh McDowell. “When we objectify and demean life by removing the sanctity of the human person, our future is at risk.”

The findings were announced at a news conference on Tuesday, January 19th at 10 AM Eastern time at The Omni Berkshire Hotel, 21 East 52nd Street in New York City.

KEY FINDINGS IN THE STUDY:

  1. TEENS AND YOUNG ADULTS

Twice as many young adults ages 25-30 first viewed pornography before puberty than did the next generation—Gen X.

More than one quarter (27%) of young adults ages 25-30 first viewed pornography before puberty.

  • This is significantly higher than the GenX cohort, of which only 13% started viewing porn before puberty

Teens and young adults have a cavalier attitude toward porn

  • When they talk about pornography with friends, 90% of teens, and 96% of young adults say they do so in an either neutral, accepting, or encouraging way.
  • Only one in 20 young adults and one in 10 teens say their friends think viewing pornography is a bad thing.

Teens and young adults consider “not recycling” more immoral than viewing pornography.

  • Less than one-third (32%) say viewing porn is “usually or always wrong” compared to the more than half (56%) who say not recycling is “usually or always wrong”

Young adults are watching more porn and seeking it out more than any other generation.

  • Among ages 13-17: 8% daily; 18% weekly; 17% once or twice a month
  • Among ages 18-24: 12% daily; 26% weekly; 19% once or twice a month
  • Among ages 25-30: 8% daily; 17% weekly; 20% once or twice a month

And their friends are too:

  • Half of young adults say “most” (32%) or “all” (17%) of their friends regularly look at porn. An additional 21% say about “half” their friends do.

Nearly half of young adults say they come across porn at least once a week—even when they aren’t seeking it out.

  • Whether they are seeking it out or not, 16% of young adults say they come across porn daily and 32% do so weekly; an additional 23% say they do once or twice a month.
  • 8% of teens say they come across porn daily and 21% do so weekly; an additional 21% say they do so once or twice a month.

Teenage girls and young women are significantly more likely to actively seek out porn than women over age 25.

  • 33% of women, ages 13-24 seek out porn at least once a month compared to 12% of women over age 25

Most teens are “sexting” – either on the receiving or sending end of sexually explicit images.

  • 66% of teens and young adults have received a sexually explicit image and 41% have sent one (usually from/to their boy/girlfriend or friend)
  1. PASTORS / THE CHURCH

70% of Christian youth pastors have had at least one teen come to them for help in dealing with porn in the past 12 months

Most often, those kids were:

  • high school boys (92%)
  • middle school boys (57%)
  • high school girls (23%)
  • middle school girls (10%)

21% of youth pastors and 14% of pastors admit they currently struggle with using porn.

  • About 12% of Youth Pastors and 5% of Pastors say there are addicted to porn
  • 87% of pastors who use porn feel a great sense of shame about it
  • 55% of pastors who use porn say they live in constant fear of being discovered

3. GENERAL POPULATION / ALL ADULTS

Half of daily users watch porn for fun

  • 54% of people who actively seek out porn on a daily basis, do so because “it’s just fun.”

Pornography has gone almost completely digital.

  • 71% of adults, 85% of teens and young adults who have viewed pornography did so using online videos
  • Magazines, graphic novels, on-demand videos and cable or rented/purchased DVDs have almost completely lost the market share, with each scoring less than 10% (aside from a slightly higher percentage of 50+ adults using DVDs)

“I know it when I see it.” Porn is notoriously difficult to define. So, how do Americans define it? Turns out, it’s more a question of function than form. If it’s used for sexual arousal, it’s porn. Simple as that.

When asked the question, “What makes something porn?” The top two reasons given were:

  • 70%: if it’s watched/listened to/or read specifically for the purpose of sexual arousal
  • 60%: if you masturbated while watching/listening to/or reading it

A wide-ranging, nationally-representative audience of nearly 3,000 participated in four online studies, including in-depth surveys among the general population, American teenagers, Christian pastors and the Christian church.

The research study was conducted by Barna Group, a visionary research and resource company focused on the intersection of faith and culture. The study has been commissioned by Josh McDowell Ministries, a Cru ministry based in Plano, Texas.

Presenters at the news conference were: David Kinnaman, president of the Barna Group (https://www.barna.org/); Roxanne Stone, editor in chief of Barna Group; and Josh McDowell, founder of Josh McDowell Ministry (http://www.josh.org/).

“Beauty of Intolerance” — NEW resource from Josh & Sean McDowell

Media Contact: Kelsey Hulgan
kelsey@iconmediagroup.com, 404-754-3474

JOSH & SEAN MCDOWELL ADVOCATE FOR INTOLERANCE IN AN INCLUSIVE CULTURE

New resource from father/son duo points to biblical truth, bridges gap between understandings of tolerance

“We believe it is possible to truly love and accept people with whom we significantly disagree—even if such an approach is increasingly considered intolerant.”

Uhrichsville, Ohio (November 2015)—Mother Teresa was intolerant of poverty. Martin Luther King was intolerant of racism. Jesus was intolerant of bigotry. So why has our culture deemed “intolerant” a dirty word when it can clearly be a beautiful thing?

Father and son duo Josh and Sean McDowell take a deep dive into truth and tolerance, examining how culture has shifted their meanings and what can be done to return to a biblical narrative in the new book The Beauty of Intolerance: Setting a Generation Free to Know Truth & Love (Shiloh Run Press, February 2016).

“This generation of young people is calling for tolerance of practically every belief and lifestyle under the sun,” write the McDowells. “They call for a new tolerance in hopes of being celebrated for their uniqueness—those things that set them apart. They want to be validated for who they are and what they feel.”

Josh and Sean examine the evolution from traditional to cultural tolerance, highlighting how two different generations view the issue and pinpointing a shift in the source of moral truth as the biggest proponent of change. Culture says that moral truth is found within the individual, rather than in the Bible.

“Step by step, we discover how biblical truth actually peels back the curtain to expose the error of the cultural view and its champion—tolerance.”

Through The Beauty of Intolerance and The Beauty of Intolerance Study Guide, the McDowells provide clarity on today’s cultural view of tolerance, detect its inaccuracies, and offer practical insight to live out a biblical view of tolerance.

Josh and Sean are available for interviews and can speak to:

  • The true meaning of tolerance: how to love those with different views
  • The fine line between tolerance and intolerance
  • What the Bible actually says about tolerance
  • How parents can respond to the tolerance their children often seek

McDowell Releases Most Convincing Apologetic Book, “God-Breathed” (April ’15)

BEST-SELLING AUTHOR IDENTIFIES TEXT IN EGYPTIAN ARTIFACTS THAT REINFORCE POWER AND RELIABILITY OF SCRIPTURE

International Speaker and Author Josh McDowell Releases Most Convincing Apologetic Book, Titled “God-Breathed,” That Reveals Rare Artifacts Confirming Ancient Biblical Texts

________________________________________________________________

UHRICHSVILLE, OH, February 25, 2015—Best-selling author Josh McDowell literally breaks new ground to offer the church and skeptics alike tangible facts for the accuracy and reliability of the Bible in his latest book, titled God-Breathed—the Undeniable Power and Reliability of Scripture (Shiloh Run Press, April 2015). In one of his most convincing apologetics messages of his five-decade-long ministry, McDowell presents the fascinating and compelling story of how recent archaeological finds—acquired from a long standing private selection of Egyptian artifacts and other objects made from papyrus dating back nearly 2,000 years—underscore the power and reliability of Scripture. For more information and to download a free booklet, visit http://www.readgodbreathed.com/.

In “God-Breathed,” Josh chronicles his recent identification of ancient fragments and a 540-year-old Torah, along with his personal journey to faith as an unbelieving skeptic of Christianity and the Bible, to present a compelling case that God’s Word can be trusted to be undeniably reliable. Meanwhile in the U.S., skepticism about the truth of the Bible continues to rise according to a 2014 Barna Group study. It found the number of those who are skeptical or agnostic toward the Bible—who believe that the Bible is “just another book of teachings written by men that contains stories and advice”—has nearly doubled from 10% to 19% in just three years.

“Each book, each page and each paragraph of Scripture was written through the lens of its human spokesmen, yet it still communicates the exact message God wants us to receive,” McDowell said. “His words were supernaturally guided through his selected human instruments so that his truth would be vivid and relevant to our lives. With God as the author and men as the writers, the sixty-six books of the Bible can rightly be called the Word of God.”

In December of 2013, McDowell assembled a team of international scholars, to identify rare Egyptian cartinage and other ancient artifacts — dating back as far as 1,600 and 2,200 years — in hopes of finding fragments of ancient scriptural writings. Ancient manuscript and language experts extracted and initially analyzed and identified the papyri within these artifacts as six New Testament passages and one Old Testament manuscript fragment—seven treasures in all! While all the manuscripts are yet unpublished and must be further scrutinized to determine the exact content and more precise dating, we do know what passages these are from—Mark 15, John 14, Matthew 6 and 7, 1 John 2, Galatians 4 and Jeremiah 33—and the approximate time period. Scholars say that six of these manuscripts are possibly the earliest known Coptic papyrus of these passages in existence today. Josh has launched the Heroic Truth Experience, a live speaking tour to showcase his ministry’s museum-quality biblical artifacts as irrefutable evidence of the Bible’s reliability.

“My hope is that this God-Breathed book will help people realize not only that the word of God is true, but also that it is alive and powerful. I equally want people to be convinced they can trust the Bible because the evidence is so incredible,” Josh said.

Since his radical conversion to Christianity in college, Josh has been a walking testimony of how ancient fragments of Scripture powerfully drew him to God. Those ancient manuscripts and the evidence of their reliability brought him to the conclusion that they were not only true and reliable, but also that Christ was who he said he was—the Son of God who came to save the world.

In 1961, Josh joined the staff of Campus Crusade for Christ International. Not long after, he started the Josh McDowell Ministry to reach young people worldwide with the truth and love of Jesus. Well known as an articulate speaker, Josh has addressed more than 25 million people, giving over 27,000 talks in 125 countries. Josh has authored or co-authored 142 books in over one hundred languages including, More Than a Carpenter –over 27 million copies distributed—and New Evidence That Demands a Verdict –named one of the twentieth century’s top 40 books.

NASCAR and Josh McDowell Team Up

NASCAR and Josh McDowell Team Up to Promote Inspiring, True Movie ‘Undaunted’

www.Josh.org/Undaunted

DALLAS – Oct. 31, 2012 – Supporters are literally racing to help promote the inspiring faith film UNDAUNTED: THE EARLY LIFE OF JOSH McDOWELL, which launched on DVD this month. NASCAR team MacDonald Motorsports; author and film producer Jeff Elliott; and film distributor EchoLight Studios team with Josh McDowell Ministry to highlight the film at Saturday’s O’Reilly Auto Parts Challenge at the Texas Motor Speedway with on-car promotion, DVD giveaways and special appearances by McDowell with drivers and race fans.

“The opportunity to reach NASCAR’s vast audience with UNDAUNTED’s message of hope and the power of forgiveness is truly awesome,” said McDowell, a world-renown Christian apologist, author and humanitarian. “I know this story of finding faith and God’s love through the most challenging circumstances will resonate and spread word of the film to many who need to hear about it.”

UNDAUNTED: THE EARLY LIFE OF JOSH McDOWELL is an award-winning, “pull no punches” docudrama. A dysfunctional family life, an alcoholic and violent father, and a sexually abusive worker on the family farm contributed to deep scars in McDowell’s life, causing him to deny God’s existence. UNDAUNTED unfolds the dramatic spiritual transformation that occurs when Josh faces his past head-on and puts everything in God’s hands. Produced by Moonlit Pictures, UNDAUNTED is distributed by EchoLight Studios.

The NASCAR opportunity for UNDAUNTED weaves a fascinating story in itself. Many members of the MacDonald Motorsports team have long supported Motor Racing Outreach (MRO), which offers chapel services for NASCAR drivers and teams. Inspired by theUNDAUNTED story, MacDonald Motorsports truly stepped up by making the car available through a sponsorship package to gain awareness for the film, and Josh’s story of God’s love.

Enter Jeff Elliott, a retired Illinois firefighter telling an overcoming faith story of his own. Elliott wrote a book and has now connected to SOUL SURFER producer Dutch Hoffstetter to make HOOVEY, a film about his son miraculously recovering from brain tumor surgery and eventually achieving his dream to play college basketball. Working with EchoLight Studios, which has green lit HOOVEY based on the true story, Elliott learned of UNDAUNTED and the NASCAR opportunity. He immediately felt compelled to help underwrite the cost of the sponsorship.

“A story like Josh’s—of faith winning out over adversity—just touched my heart because in my family we needed that same faith as our son faced brain surgery,” Elliott said. “I’m proud to be a part of bringing Josh and UNDAUNTED to ‘NASCAR nation.’”
With the sponsorship, McDowell gains a rare opportunity to encourage NASCAR teams at the Motor Racing Outreach services this Saturday before the O’Reilly Auto Parts Challenge, part of NASCAR’s Nationwide Series. And in addition to other exposure, McDowell will also lead Sunday’s MRO services before NASCAR’s Sprint Cup Series AAA Texas 500, and be on hand for the race, meeting drivers, teams and fans and encouraging them with his story.

“Being able to take advantage of this NASCAR opportunity—people coming together to inspire and uplift—is exactly the kind of story EchoLight Studios was created to share,” EchoLight Chief Global Strategist Christopher Morrow said. “What a privilege it is to partner in bringing the vital message of UNDAUNTED to NASCAR’s millions of fans.”
UNDAUNTED is available now through such leading online and retail providers as ChristianCinema.com, Amazon.com, CBD, Family Christian Stores and Walmart among many others.

“UNDAUNTED” AWARDED PRESTIGIOUS CROWN AWARDS

‘Undaunted: The Early Life of Josh McDowell’ receives two Crown Awards at the International Christian Visual Media Conference

FLOWER MOUND, TX – July 20, 2012 – Josh McDowell Ministry was honored by the International Christian Visual Media Conference this past week in Orlando, FL with two of its celebrated Crown Awards. “Undaunted: The Early Life of Josh McDowell” won in two categories, one of which was for “Best Evangelistic Film.”

The Crown Awards which recognize excellence in production and content of films and videos that reflect Christian values in a secular world represent an international endorsement of this project and the message it sends to a hurting world.

Josh McDowell had this to say about the award; “We’re honored and humbled with this recognition by the International Christian Visual Media Conference.  It is reflective of what we see God doing with this film around the world in the lives of the hurting and lost.  While people everywhere struggle with similar scars, it is our Heavenly Father who can take the broken pieces and create something beautiful, filled with hope and purpose.”

The film, which is a docudrama, focuses on the early years of Josh McDowell’s life growing up in a dysfunctional family with an alcoholic father and a sexually abusive caregiver. McDowell’s tragic childhood is the foundation that sets him on a path that would turn him from agnostic to evangelist as he searches for truth as a college student.

“We are so excited about this project for several reasons,” says Bobby Downes, President of EchoLight studios.  “Not only has Josh McDowell produced a film of the highest quality, this film represents a ministry tool that will heal the hurting and lead the unsaved to Christ for the next century and beyond, so the recognition by ICVM is just further evidence that God is going to do amazing things with this project.”

Undaunted: The Early Life of Josh McDowell is slated for release in October of 2012 and is being distributed by EchoLight Studios.

Argentina Shocked and Encouraged by Josh McDowell

Press Release Summary: PLANO, TX: Argentina Shocked and Encouraged by Josh McDowell.

PLANO, TX, July 17, 2012- The Bare Facts Latin America Tour 2012 Effectively Shed Light on Sex, Love, and Relationships

Overview

Reaching across cultures, Josh McDowell successfully opened the eyes of eager participants in Argentina on material from The Bare Facts: 39 Questions Your Parents Hope You Never Ask About Sex. Giving a Biblical vision of God’s design for sex, discussing ground-level application of imparting this truth to youth, and answering questions without limitations, this tour is literally changing the direction of a sexualized culture. McDowell visited 6 cities in Argentina from May 22nd to June 2nd, speaking to audiences numbering 3,350 and 2,800 in various settings. The participants’ responses were overwhelmingly positive:

Javier Santini, representative of the Catholic Church Compañía de Jesús in Córdoba, Argentina states: “I have two small children and this seminar opened my eyes. I never imagined that these things were taking place. Thank you for touching a taboo subject in the religious community. The world is changing all around us without asking our permission, and we need to be trained to respond anywhere and everywhere. My most sincere thanks for what Josh shared, and I extend my commitment to share this information with as many families as possible. To care for and to shepherd is not just a slogan; it is a cause worthy of our attention.

In addition, Andrea, a teacher and director of a ministry to children, said, “It is indescribable how much light has shed on hidden realities that our children suffer from. I always suspected some of these things but had never had the benefit of information and guidance that the seminar gives. The information is concerning, but at the same time, I now have training and encouragement to know that there is hope.”

The seminar included 10 hours of intensive training, presentations, and Q&A time. Each seminar closed with Undaunted, the docudrama on McDowell’s early life with an alcoholic father, sexual abuse, severe dysfunction, and hopelessness. While heart wrenching to watch, it’s raw account and honest confrontation of these taboo topics disarms the hearts of its audience to wrestle with the goodness and redemptive plan of God. Participants also received a Bare Facts certificate and a copy of the book in Spanish. Supplemental training DVD’s are currently being edited and will be made available as soon as possible.

With over 50 years in ministry, Josh continues to find that nothing sabotages faith commitments and spiritual growth of children, teens and college students more than sexual experimentation. Josh produced The Bare Facts campaign in response to pleas for tools on the issues of sex, love and relationships from youth and culture leaders in Latin America, Asia and even Middle Eastern nations. As part of a 45-city speaking tour in 15 countries throughout 2012, McDowell is currently touring Latin America with his Bare Facts campaign.

Well known as an articulate speaker, Josh has addressed more than 10 million young people, giving over 24,000 talks in 118 countries. Since 1960, Josh has written or co-authored 120 books.

Latest Resource With “Mature Content” Warning

Press Release Summary: PLANO, TX: Latest Resource With “Mature Content” Warning.

PLANO, TX, May 24, 2012— Josh McDowell launched provocative but tasteful resources to raise awareness about the threat of online pornography

Overview

Josh McDowell, a leading advocate for children and the preservation of the Christian family, has launched Just1ClickAway.org, a new series of provocative but tastefully produced resources that raise awareness about the growing threat of online pornography. Released just in time for summer vacation when students’ media consumption significantly increases, the Just1ClickAway.org website, video and articles from McDowell and his network of participating organizations offer solutions for families and individuals of all ages and stages. Josh placed a warning label on the video because of its mature content.

McDowell said, “The greatest threat to the cause of Christ is pervasive sexuality and pornography. Today we have, by and large, lost control of the controls because an intrusive immorality is just one click away from our children. With just one keystroke on a smartphone, iPad, or laptop, a child can open up some of the worst pornography and sexually graphic content you can imagine. There’s never been such access in history. ”

Just1ClickAway.org contains the latest resources in The Bare Facts, McDowell’s biblically based, medically sound and culturally relevant campaign that provides youth and those who influence them with an understanding of love, sexuality and relationships.

Pornography is an equal opportunity intruder in the newly released Just1ClickAway.org video: a young boy on his laptop in the privacy of his bedroom, a father clutching a TV remote in the family room, and a teenage girl on her PDA in the kitchen. Dramatically portrayed as male and female tempters (wearing clothes), pornography aggressively preys on and attacks its victim, virtually in plain view of unsuspecting family members.

The video shares disturbing statistics about the destructive impact of pornography on the Christian family, including:

  • More than one-billion pornographic websites are one click away.
  • The average age of first-time views of pornography is 9 years old.
  • 80 percent of 15-17 year olds have been exposed to hardcore porn.
  • The adult pornography industry reports that 20-30 percent of their traffic comes from children.
  • Half of all Christian families report that pornography is a problem.
  • 68 percent of divorces happen when one partners finds a pornographic lover online.
  • And, 30 percent of pastors have viewed pornography in the last 30 days, among others.

‘MORE THAN A CARPENTER’ AUTHOR DOTES ON HIS BELOVED DOTTIE AS SECRET TO LIFETIME OF SUCCESS

Best-Selling Author and International Speaker Josh McDowell Accepts Lifetime Achievement Award at Christian Booksellers Association Annual Conference With Words of Adoration For Dottie, His Wife of 43 Years

________________________________________________________________

ORLANDO, FL, June 28, 2015 — Behind every great man, there is a great woman. Josh McDowell is no exception to this rule.

Today, McDowell, the best-selling author of “More Than A Carpenter” and “New Evidence That Demands a Verdict” who has penned 142 books in 100 languanges since 1960, praised his wife Dottie as the reason for his ministry success, while being honored with the Christian Bookseller Association’s (CBA) highest honor—the International Lifetime Achievement Award. It was awarded at opening ceremonies at the annual International Christian Retail Show (ICRS), currently being held at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, FL, June 28-July 1.

Dottie, McDowell’s beloved wife of 43 years, sat on the front row among a crowd of his industry peers including Duane Zook, Josh McDowell Ministry president. Accepting the plaque from CBA President Curtis Riskey with his name engraved on it, Josh doted on Dottie: “I never knew a woman could love a man so much. God has used my wife, Dottie, to change my life, and I am so grateful!”

In spite of all the honors and awards Josh has received over the years, he consistently tells everyone enthusiastically that his greatest joys and pleasures come from his family. Fittingly, before accepting the award, CBA played a surprise home video produced by and starring McDowell’s four children and 10 grandchildren on the jumbo overhead screen. “God has faithfully allowed my ministry, my family and me to share his God-breathed word for more than 50 years,” Josh added.

“God-Breathed” is McDowell’s most recent book, published by Shiloh Run Press, a division of Barbour Publishing. In conjunction with the launch of “God-Breathed,” McDowell will unveil for booksellers and convention attendees his recent acquisition of ancient Egyptian burial fragments that contain some of the earliest recordings of the Bible, dating back between 1600 to 2200 BC, to underscore the reliability of biblical scripture.

CBA President Curtis Riskey bestowed McDowell with the honor, saying, “We see Josh as a pivotal leader for our industry. We are excited to present this special award to Josh this year for his outstanding service and lifelong accomplishment in creating, distributing, and using Christian resources to achieve ministry and further the Gospel around the world.” Then, he shared a personal story about when Josh planted a seed of faith in his life while speaking at his college. “I am so thankful Josh came to Oshkosh, WI, and how many more million lives has his ministry touched?”

Barbour Publishing President & CEO Tim Martins said of McDowell’s achievement, “We are delighted to partner with Josh McDowell and his ministry during such an important milestone in his prolific ministry. We pray that Josh will continue to touch lives with biblical truth for the Kingdom of God.”

Josh McDowell Ministry President Duane Zook said, “Over the past 34 years of serving alongside Josh, I have seen his consistent enthusiasm and passion for letting everyone in the world hear about Jesus. I am thrilled that Josh has received this Lifetime Achievement Award. And I know that this award will motivate him even more to communicate biblical truth, so that there are true followers of Jesus everywhere who live, defend, and share their faith.”

Well known as an articulate speaker, Josh has addressed more than 25 million people, giving over 27,000 talks in 125 countries. Among his publishing accomplishments, Josh has distributed more than 27 million copies of his popular More Than A Carpenter, and New Evidence That Demands a Verdict was named one of the twentieth century’s top 40 books and one of the thirteen most influential books of the last 50 years on Christian thought by World Magazine. In addition to many other awards, Josh has been nominated 36 times for the Gold Medallion Award and has received that award on four occasions.

As Josh traveled to other countries, he quickly realized that where people were sick, homeless, and hungry, words were not enough. In 1991, Josh founded Operation Carelift, currently known as GAIN, to meet the physical and spiritual needs he discovered in orphanages, hospitals, schools, and prisons in the countries of the former Soviet Union.

As a young man, Josh McDowell considered himself an agnostic. However, when challenged to intellectually examine the claims of Christianity, Josh discovered compelling, overwhelming evidence for the reliability of the Christian faith.

After his conversion, his plans for law school turned instead to plans to tell a doubting world about the truth of Jesus Christ. After studying at Kellogg College, Josh completed his college degree at Wheaton College and then attended Talbot Theological Seminary, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Master of Divinity degree.
