Over the years, God has worked through the Josh McDowell Ministry in some remarkable ways and He continues to open doors to expand His Kingdom around the globe. Some of the most effective ministry outreach occurs spontaneously, as Josh McDowell and his staff travel and interact with other people and ministries around the world.
More than forty-nine million Josh McDowell books and resources are in circulation in 125 countries and in over 80 languages. More than twenty-six million of these resources have been supplied internationally since 1989. Yet the need is still great and growing. Requests pour in from around the world. Pastors in China are experiencing unprecedented growth in underground churches, yet there are very few resources available to them for grounding believers in their faith. Communication Centers in the Middle East and Europe receive thousands of requests each week for Christ-centered resources which will go to places that missionaries cannot go.
Doors open quickly. Often, without prior notice, the Ministry will have opportunity to provide resources and support in such unlikely places as Cuba, the Middle East and North Africa. It is vitally important to respond quickly when the Lord opens one of these doors, because frequently, the door is a narrow one and the opportunity to reach into a setting otherwise closed to the Gospel is limited.
The Global Action Fund enables the Ministry to make an immediate response when God opens one of these doors. The objectives of the Global Action Fund are to enable Josh McDowell Ministry to quickly and completely fund urgent ministry opportunities. When a door for ministry is opened, these funds are used to:

assess the needs of the area and opportunity

plan a course of immediate action such as live events, resources, literature distribution, pastor support, etc.

prepare and print resources that meet the culturally-specific needs of the area so that each person can hear the Gospel or build on that foundation in their heart-language
It is humbling to remember how God has used the Josh McDowell Ministry to bring His truth to “closed” nations as He began to “open” them. Over a decade ago, as the Soviet Union began to open up, the Ministry had the privilege of leading one of the first outreaches to the Russian people. Not long after that, the Lord opened the door for ministry in Cuba. Within six months of the first visit there, God allowed the ministry team to return with more than 350 Christians carrying humanitarian aid and Christ-centered books for people desperate for the truth of Jesus Christ.
In 2003, new doors of historic significance opened as the opportunity to print More Than a Carpenter and Evidence That Demands a Verdict opened in Iraq. In 2005, the Ministry participated in an outreach to business men and women in Morocco at the invitation of the king! These are just a few of the opportunities beyond imagination that have already taken place.
As God has moved in the past, the Ministry trusts He will do so again. In fact, through new areas of emphasis in North Africa, the Middle East, Eastern Europe and Central Asia, even greater opportunities are opening up. The Global Action Fund is critical to the Josh McDowell Ministry’s ability to respond to immediate opportunities to equip churches, pastors, partner ministries and individuals with resources to reach every generation for Christ. The goal for this fund over the next five years is $5,000,000.
