Although the Josh McDowell Ministry has had an internet presence for many years, the way that the internet is used by people has changed over the past few years. The Josh McDowell Ministry is a serving ministry. Just as we serve other ministries through provision of books, we now need to serve other ministries through the internet. There are three ways in which the Josh McDowell Ministry needs to use the internet:
To reduce costs and increase effectiveness of ministry implementation.
The internet enables us to reduce travel costs, deliver products, co-ordinate and raise funds more cost effectively than ever before. In many ways such as through video conference meetings, sharing planning files, distribution of manuscripts electronically, publishers electronically manage publishing information the distribution of stories electronically, the internet can reduce costs and increase the speed with which we minister.
To serve other internet ministries.
The Josh McDowell Ministry has over 8,000 audio and video recordings of Josh speaking, in addition to his book manuscripts. With the internet it is practical to distribute these recordings in ways that were not possible until technology recently allowed. Internet provides a way for major ministries all over the world to, reach people in countries in where human missionaries cannot easily go. By allowing other internet sites to electronically access the resources of JMM automatically we will exponentially grow the number of people that God can reach through the materials He has put in our hands.
To reach young people directly.
Young people have far more media than ever beforefrom which to chosse messages that they absorb into their lives. The internet is a bigger influence in their lives than we could ever have imagined. As you probably have seen, young teens constantly communicate through text messaging and social networking sites like Myspace and Facebook. Even the TV companies know, that the influence of video sites like YouTube is enormous. The Josh McDowell Ministry wants to extend its use of ministry to young people through these, and similar web sites.
Funding for Global True Foundations and Internet Ministry
This includes funding of the following:
 Romania:
 Ukraine:
- Small group DVD production
- Event production costs to launch local campaign
 China:
- Completion of Web site to offer books and videos in Chinese to pastors and parents free of charge
- Dubbing of second set of small group videos in Chinese
 Ethiopia:
- Translation and dubbing of small group videos in Amharic
Other Needs:
- Completion of Web site to offer books and videos in Spanish to pastors and parents free of charge
- Dubbing of second set of small group videos in Spanish
- Student conference in Slovakia
- Video dubbing of second set of small group materials for Poland
- Book to CD project
Goal: $825,000 for 2008
