Human Resources Specialist ** The following positions are volunteer--not paid--positions. We have missionary openings available at www.josh.org/serve. All volunteer positions are in our office located in Plano Texas, just 15 minutes north of Dallas.
HR professional to handle the human resources function of the Josh McDowell Ministry, encouraging the professional, spiritual, and personal development of all staff members. The successful candidate will enjoy working with people: recruiting, orienting, counseling, training, and caring for the JMM staff team, including staff working outside the Plano, Texas, office. Social Network Ministry Specialist Skilled project manager to upgrade and expand JMM’s social networking ministry. The candidate should possess web-design skills using software such as HTML, DHTML, Adobe/Macromedia Flash Pro, Adobe Photoshop, and more. Customer Service Representative-Sales A ministry-minded person with a servant’s heart to serve, assist, and help people acquire JMM resources. The representative will demonstrate careful listening skills, attention to detail, and the ability to resolve problems. Excellent people skills, courtesy, and proficiency in handling phone calls and communicating by email are essential. Seasoned publishing manager with applicable experience to initiate, organize, and manage JMM relations with U.S. publishers. This person will provide strong leadership to bring new products to market as well as coordinate the revision and updating of existing JMM resources. Energetic, mission-minded, male intern to serve as Josh’s primary assistant “on the road,” handling travel logistics, solving problems, researching, running PowerPoint presentations when Josh speaks, assisting with resources sales, copying, and e-mailing. He should be professional, detail-oriented, and generally be tech-savvy. The typical internship lasts 9-12 months. Executive Administrative Assistant Experienced administrative assistant for the ministry’s CEO, with skills in scheduling, travel planning, documenting meetings, record keeping, composing documents, word processing, reporting, tracking, filing, and small project management. A well-organized person with a great sense of humor, creativity, initiative, and patience will thrive in this very important position. A servant-focused person with a sense of humor, initiative, and patience to assist the Josh Team by handling a variety of assignments. Skills in scheduling, research, record keeping, composing documents, word-processing, reporting, tracking, filing, and small project management will be helpful. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint would be an advantage. Development Team Project Specialist To assist the Development Team by handling project and product assignments, such as answering phone calls, sorting files, digitizing documents, organizing fundraising proposal files, and helping with mailings to prospects and donors. The volunteer with a sense of humor, the ability to flex, basic computer skills, and a desire to serve should find this position to be fulfilling and significant. A person with the heart of a servant to handle all aspects of mailing and shipping for the Ministry. The volunteer will already have relevant experience or will be willing to be trained on the job for this important work. The volunteer should be creative, patient, attentive to details, cheerful, and able to flex as conditions change.
