Prayer is the easiest and hardest of all things; the simplest and the sublimest; the weakest and the most powerful; its results lie outside the range of human possibilities—they are limited only by the omnipotence of God.

Join us on a 14-day prayer journey.

Day 1 - Healing

But you shall serve the LORD your God, and He will bless your bread and your water; and I will remove sickness from your midst. Exodus 23:25 (NASB)

Lord, thank You for Your love for us, draw us near to You, open our hearts to know You more every day. Show us how to serve You wholeheartedly, even during these difficult times. Help us to honor You in our thoughts, words and deeds. Bestow upon us the same promise You did to Israel, that, as we serve You, You would bless our bread and water, fill our shelves again and remove the sickness from our midst. We ask also for physical, mental, relational and spiritual healing. Strengthen our hearts and equip us so that we will be able to minister to others in the areas which we have been healed. Thank You Lord, for Your love and desire to care for us. In Jesus name, Amen.

Day 2 - Hope and Reassurance

Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and YOU WILL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light. Matthew 11:28-30 (NASB)

Lord, thank You that You call us to come to You when we’re weary and heavy-laden. Thank You for Your desire to give us rest, which is peace in the midst of trials. Help us to take Your yoke upon us, like a guiding hand. Help us to learn from You; give us a desire to study Your word; open our eyes to understand it, that we may find rest for our souls. Thank You for who You are, for Your desire to walk with us and teach us. In Jesus name, Amen.

Day 3 - Strength and Resilience

Who else has held the oceans in his hand?
Who has measured off the heavens with his fingers?
Who else knows the weight of the earth
or has weighed the mountains and hills on a scale?

He gives power to the weak
and strength to the powerless.

Even youths will become weak and tired,
and young men will fall in exhaustion.

But those who trust in the LORD will find new strength.
They will soar high on wings like eagles.
They will run and not grow weary.
They will walk and not faint.

Isaiah 40:12, 29-31 (NLT)

Lord, with perfect detail you held the oceans when You formed the earth; You measured off the heavens and weighed the mountains. Your power is too much for us to comprehend, though we get a glimpse when we marvel at Your creation. We cannot find within ourselves the strength to stand when we are weak and powerless over our circumstances, yet You desire to strengthen us. Help us to trust in You Lord, that we will find new strength, that we will soar high on wings like eagles, run and not grow weary. As we walk through these difficult times, Lord, be our strength, that we will walk and not faint. Thank You for Lord, that You cover those who trust in You. Show us where our trust is lacking and help us to trust in You more every day. In Jesus name, Amen.

Day 4 - Prayer for ourselves and others

God has given both his promise and his oath. These two things are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to lie. Therefore, we who have fled to him for refuge can have great confidence as we hold to the hope that lies before us. This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. Hebrews 6:18-19 (NLT)

…on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world. John 16:33 (NLT)

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7 (NLT)

Heavenly Father, we’re seeing and experiencing so much suffering these days as we watch the impact which the coronavirus is having on the world, our communities and our families. As we walk through such challenging times, thank You for Your promise and Your oath which You made on our behalf – that as we take refuge in You – we have hope which is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. Thank You that You are with us, that we’re not weathering this storm alone. Lord, You are no stranger to suffering and You told us that we too would face many trials and sorrows. You understand our pain and have compassion on us. Thank You for what You’ve done to overcome the world. Help us, Lord, during this time, to not worry, but instead come to You in prayer and thankfulness about everything You have done and continue to do for us. Lay Your peace upon us – which exceeds anything we can understand – and guard our hearts and minds as we live in Christ Jesus. In Jesus name, Amen.

Day 5 - Prayer for world leaders

I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity. This is good and pleases God our Savior, who wants everyone to be saved and to understand the truth.  1 Timothy 2:1-4 (NLT)

Now, Israel, what does the LORD your God require from you, but to fear the LORD your God, to walk in all His ways and love Him, and to serve the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and to keep the LORD’S commandments and His statutes which I am commanding you today for your good? Deuteronomy 10:12-13 (NASB)

Lord, throughout the Scriptures we learn how important it is that we follow all of Your commandments; not because You’re a tyrant, but because You have instructed us in the ways of righteousness; You want what is best for us. Lord, we lift up our local, state and federal appointed and elected leaders to You, as well as leaders around the world. Guide them along their paths, that they will seek to walk in all Your ways, love You and serve You with all their heart and soul and keep Your commandments and statutes which You have commanded for our good. For those who don’t know You, open their hearts that they will. Send people and miracles into their paths that they will see Your glory working out in their own lives. We ask for those who believe, and for those who don’t, for discernment, wisdom and guidance in all of their plans and decision making, that their leadership will glorify You and bless those under their authority. We thank You, Lord, for Your desire to hear our prayers, walk with us and be active in our lives. In Jesus name, Amen.

Day 6 - Protection

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. Psalm 91:1 (NASB)

Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth? Who set its measurements? Have you ever in your life commanded the morning, And caused the dawn to know its place… Job 38:4, 5, 12 (NASB)

Heavenly Father, the One who forgives those who seek You and turn from their iniquity, thank You for Your grace and mercy. As we face such uncertainty in our circumstances right now, each passing day reveals to us we have no control over today, much less tomorrow. To dwell in the shelter of the Most High and abide in the shadow of the Almighty, is to rest in the hands of the One Creator God, who laid the foundation of the earth and set its measurements, the One who commanded the morning and caused dawn to know its place. Lord, You are a God of immeasurable power and Your shelter and shadow are a safe haven. Help us to lean in to You. Give us wisdom, discernment and guidance as we navigate through these days. Cast Your shadow of protection over our homes and our families. Thank You for the unconditional love You have for us. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Day 7 - Provision

I cared for you in the wilderness, In the land of drought. Hosea 13:5 (NASB)

Lord, God of plenty, You don’t need anything from us. But You ask for our devotion; it is Your desire that we honor You with our thoughts, time and resources. Your blessings are poured over us so freely; help us to honor You in everything that we think and do and with all that we have. As You cared for the Israelites in the wilderness, turn Your eyes upon us today and care for us as we face the effects COVID-19 is having on world. Give us wisdom and discernment as we make decisions about how we spend our time and money; help us to be wise and generous, helping others in need when we’re able and accepting help from others when necessary. Thank You Lord, for walking along this journey with us. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Day 8 - Unity

Therefore if there is any encouragement in Christ, if there is any consolation of love, if there is any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and compassion, make my joy complete by being of the same mind, maintaining the same love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose. Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves; do not merely look out for your own personal interests, but also for the interests of others. Philippians 2:1-2 (NASB)

I do not ask on behalf of these alone, but for those also who believe in Me through their word; that they may all be one; even as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be in Us, so that the world may believe that You sent Me. John 17:20-21 (NASB)

Lord, You call us to be one, a light for the nations. Help us to spend more time in prayer with You, studying Your word, growing in faith. Lead us all to a better understanding of You, that we would also be of the same mind, maintaining the same love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose. Help us to look out, not for our own personal interests, but the interests of others, doing nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind, help us to regard others as more important than ourselves. Just as Jesus prayed on our behalf, Lord, for those of us who believe in Him, let us all be one, even as You are in Jesus and Jesus is in You, let us also be in You, so that the world may believe that You sent Him. As we are united, let our light shine so brightly upon the world that they will be drawn to You and find their hope and salvation in You. Guide us in all our ways that our lives will glorify You, Lord. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Day 9 - Guidance

“Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid or tremble at them, for the LORD your God is the one who goes with you. He will not fail you or forsake you.” Deuteronomy 31:6 (NASB)

Heavenly Father, the days before us are unknown. Thank You that we can be assured of one thing that will always be constant – Your presence with those who seek You. Thank You for Your promise to never leave us. Guide us Lord, as You did the Israelites into the Promised Land. Give us strength and courage, that we would not be afraid of the days ahead, although at times they seem daunting. Go with us, Lord, guide us in our thoughts, decisions, actions and plans, that we will do what needs to be done to provide for and protect our families, minister to others and glorify You in all that we do. Thank You for Your guidance. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Day 10 - Wisdom

For the LORD gives wisdom; From His mouth come knowledge and understanding. Proverbs 2:6 (NASB)

Lord, true wisdom comes from You, the creator of the earth, our all-knowing Father who created time and space. As we humble ourselves before You and seek Your will, give us wisdom; for from Your mouth comes knowledge and understanding. Give us these things in abundance as we walk through uncertain days so that we’ll know the way in which we should go. Let us be a beacon of light, a source of wisdom and counsel, to our families, friends and neighbors, that we can serve others and lead them to You where they can find their hope and peace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Day 11 - Grief

Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. Matthew 5:4 (NASB)

Heavenly Father, the One who hears our prayers, understands our pain and weeps when we weep, comfort us today as we grieve. Whether we grieve unprecedented economic challenges during these difficult times, the inability to sit at the bedside of a sick loved one, the loss of a loved one whose funeral we cannot attend, or anything else, we know that You are sitting right beside us. Thank You that You never leave us. In this time of solitude where comfort has become difficult to give and difficult to receive, fill in the gaps. Lord, in Your immeasurable love, comfort us in ways we would never expect, that our hearts would be lifted up and we would find peace and healing. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Day 12 - Love

This is My commandment, that you love one another, just as I have loved you. John 15:12 (NASB)

Lord, You express Your love for us in a multitude of ways, affirming Your unending love for us. Your desire for us is that we too, would love one another, as You have loved us. In these days, as our ability to connect with others is so limited, help us to know how to express love to those in our lives who need it. Whether it be family, friends, neighbors or someone else, make it clear how we can be an encouragement, offer hope, or just be there when they need someone most. We give this time over to You Lord, and ask You to make us available in any way in which You would call us to love one another. Thank You for Your gracious love and for Your desire to use us to share it with others. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Day 13 - Peace

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7 (NASB)

Lord, as each new day dawns, we face the uncertainty that comes with it. Thank You that You are our foundation. Help us to be anxious for nothing but instead, to lift everything up to You in prayer and supplication. Open our eyes to recognize the rich blessings You pour upon us, that our hearts will overflow with thankfulness as we make our requests known to You. Guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus with Your peace, which surpasses all comprehension. Thank You Lord, for Your desire for us is for peace and not anxiety. Help us to cling to You, that we will receive it. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Day 14 - Kindness and Goodness

Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. Colossians 3:12-13 (NLT)

Heavenly Father, in our lives which had become so busy—for some of us—our circumstances have now slowed down and brought our families together. For others, our schedules have become overwhelmed by the demand of doing our part to fight the battle against COVID-19. No matter where we are on the spectrum, please clothe us all with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience for those around us or in our care. Help us to make allowances for each other’s faults and forgive anyone who offends us. Remind us often, Lord, how You have forgiven us. Thank You for Your forgiveness and abundant love. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
