La idea de que Dios es tres en uno resulta confusa para muchas personas. Dios existe como tres personas, pero es un solo ser. Cada una de las personas de la Trinidad —el Padre, el Hijo y el Espíritu Santo— tiene una identidad propia y, sin embargo, posee toda la naturaleza de Dios.
Jesús es el Hijo divino de Dios. Esto no significa que Jesús fuera creado por Dios. Lo sabemos porque la Escritura afirma que Jesús siempre ha coexistido con Dios (Juan 1:1-3). Y mientras estuvo en la Tierra, el propio Jesús declaró lo mismo. Colosenses 1:15-17 dice: "Cristo es la imagen del Dios invisible, el primogénito de toda creación, porque en él fueron creadas todas las cosas, las que hay en los cielos y las que hay en la tierra...Y Él es antes que todas las cosas, y todas las cosas en Él subsisten".
God the Holy Spirit is also deity. The Spirit has eternally co-existed with the Father and the Son and was present at creation (see Genesis 1:2). Jesus said of him, “I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate…He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth…When the Father sends the Advocate as my representative—that is, the Holy Spirit—he will teach you everything I have told you” (John 14: 16, 26).
Jesus called the co-existing Spirit holy because he is the Spirit of the Holy God, the third person of the triune Godhead. Rest assured that as you seek to know God, you will feel the presence and promptings of the Holy Spirit.
