Donor Advised Funds (DAF)

Donor Advised Funds (DAF)

If you have a Donor Advised Fund (DAF) with a sponsoring charity like a Christian-based fund, community foundation, the National Philanthropic Trust, or the charitable arm of one of the big brokerage firms (Fidelity, Vanguard, Schwab), you can direct the remaining balance in your DAF to support Josh McDowell Ministry.

Upon your death there are three options:

  1. The person you designated in your family keeps the gift active
  2. Your funds go to the sponsoring charity arm
  3. Josh McDowell Ministry receives the remainder from the fund, if you set up this option

Donor Advised Funds give you the flexibility to change the beneficiary, or to allow other family members to designate after you have passed. As these assets were already designated for charity, your gift does not take anything from your heirs.
