Frontline Prayer: Li – East Asia

Confusion spreads fast.  Truth must spread faster.

At just 30 years old, Pastor Li* is fighting a quiet but fierce battle across East Asia. Officially, he pastors one church — but unofficially, he shepherds 60 different gatherings of believers across mountains and cities. These meeting points aren’t official churches, but they are precious places where truth is explored and faith quietly grows. In a culture where misinformation and spiritual pressure are common, trusted truth is hard to find.

Pastor Li first encountered Evidence That Demands a Verdict during seminary. His school valued the book so highly that the copies had to stay in the library for students to study — copies that were well-worn but well-kept from careful use. Evidence gave Pastor Li solid answers for the questions and confusion his country was facing. Jesus is God, the Bible can be trusted, the resurrection was a historical event, and falsehood can be exposed with truth.

To his amazement and gratitude, when he graduated seminary he was given his own copy! This wasn’t just a book — it became a critical tool to help him lead others through a landscape filled with spiritual confusion.

Today, Pastor Li is a leader of churches across an entire province, a professor shaping future pastors, and a father raising his two young sons to know Jesus.

In closed countries, missionaries may not be able to get in, but books and resources can! Over the last 12 years, more than 660,000 books or little missionaries have been put in the hands of over 30,000 trained, indigenous students at 90+ seminaries and Bible colleges across East Asia, impacting an estimated 30 million people through local churches.
