Where Do I Start?
You must first equip yourself to understand both the “whys” of your faith (Apologetics) and a biblical, medical and cultural grasp of sexuality and pornography. Then, as you are beginning to understand the above two issues you need to expand and deepen your relationship with your children.
Apologetics
- The God Quest (Sean McDowell and Outreach Inc.). A six week life- changing adventure to focus on the core beliefs of the Christian faith – and on Jesus as the one true path to God. This series offers powerful truths and compelling evidence for faith in Christ.
- Foundations of Apologetics (RZIM, The Ravi Zacharias International Ministry). This study will help participants become adept at recognizing the many worldviews that influence our culture and equip them to challenge the assumptions of these It will enable parents and students alike to become adept at knowing why they believe and to relate it to their world.
- I Don’t Have Enough Faith to be an Atheist (Frank Turek, Cross Examined). This book and curriculum is designed to prepare students to know “why they believe” and share it with boldness and effectiveness.
Sexuality and Pornography
- The Bare Facts book and DVD series (Josh McDowell Ministry). The 3- disc DVD and companion book is designed for parents to use with their children to biblically, medically and culturally understand biblical sexuality. Josh interacts with 25 students from 5 countries in a coffee shop setting to answer 43 straight forward questions about sex.
- Abby Ludvigson has created an incredible DVD series on abstinence until marriage that is in its final stages of production…its profound, biblical, medically solid, entertaining and humorous.
- The Abstinence & Marriage Partnership (A&M) (Scott Phelps). A&M Partnership was founded with a vision of reaching every teenager in the country with the abstinence and marriage The Excel curriculum is one of several developed to accomplish this task.
- The True Love Project (Clayton King). This is a video-driven Bible study for all students which provides an in-depth look at what the Bible teaches pertaining to sex and purity. By starting with God's story and ending with sex, students will explore a number of topics that demonstrate the centrality of the gospel when it comes to defining one's purity.
- Relationships Under Construction (Catherine Wood). Growing up is not as simple for today’s young people as it was for their baby-boomer and baby-buster parents. Relationships Under Construction is designed to come alongside students, parents, educators and their communities to empower young people to make healthy decisions based upon medically accurate information, therefore maintaining the possibility of awesome opportunities for their lives.
