Have you ever thought about the people you would like to meet when you get to heaven? I mean after, you know, Jesus and Paul. The one man I would like to meet has become a hero to me and I don’t even know him. But I know what God accomplished through him. His name is Dr. Robert Dick Wilson.
As a young man he came to Christ and when he did the Holy Spirit burned within him a love for the Scriptures, a love for God’s Word. And at 25 years old he made a pact with God where he kind of said “God, if you do this. If you let me live to be 70 years old, that’s 45 more years, he said, “I will take the first 15 years and I will study every major language that the Bible has been translated into.”
He said, “The second 15 years, I will study carefully the entire text of the Old Testament.” And then third, “If you allow me to live the last 15 years, then I will write and speak and defend your Word all over the world.”
Well, guess what? God took him at his word. He did live to be 70 and he kept his commitment. For example, in the first 15 years, he didn’t just study he mastered 45 languages and dialects. He could quote the entire New Testament, syllable by syllable from memory. He had mastered — in just reading — the New Testament in 9 languages. After that, he made an astounding discovery. He said this, “An extraordinary confirmation of the careful transmission of the Hebrew documents from the original.” In other words, he discovered something that confirmed that the Jewish scribes had been faithful in copying the Scriptures down through the years.
And he went on to say, “It lies in the exact manner,” now this is amazing “which the names of the kings are spelled.” You say now, “Wait a minute?” After 15 years mastering 45 languages, after studying every consonant in the entire Old Testament, just think — start out with the first consonant, should that consonant be there, should the next consonant be there, every single one of the one million consonants, took him 15 years and then writing and speaking, he said one of the greatest things he discovered about the accuracy of the Jewish scribes and the fidelity of the Word of God is through how the names, the spelling of the Kings were accurate down through the years.
Now how amazing is that? Well in the next segment, I want to blow your mind to show you what he discovered.

SUMMARY: Josh wants to meet Dr. Robert Dick Wilson in heaven. At the age of 25 he made a 45 year covenant with God. If God let him live to 70 he would spend 15 years studying every major language the Bible has been translated into. The next 15 years he would study the entire Old Testament text and the last 15 years he would speak and defend the Word all over the world. It happened. He mastered 45 languages and dialects. He could quote the entire New Testament. He could read the New Testament in 9 languages. He discovered an extraordinary confirmation. He studied every single one of the million constants. One of the greatest things he discovered about the accuracy of the Jewish scribes is that the spelling of the Kings’ names was accurate down through the years.
